Photos: Transformer Sent Flying As SUV Slams Into Route 17 Pole In Paramus

PARAMUS, N.J. -- An SUV slammed head-on into a utility pole on northbound Route 17 in Paramus early Wednesday evening, sending the driver to the hospital and a transformer into a nearby parking lot.

An ambulance took the driver to Hackensack University Medical Center.

Traffic in both directions was slowed considerably near Kalisa Way until the wrecked Nissan Rogue could be removed by flatbed tow truck.

An ambulance took the driver to Hackensack University Medical Center with undetermined injuries. A paramedic unit from The Valley Hospital assisted Paramus EMTs with patient care.A PSE&G crew responded, as did Paramus police and firefighters.
